Memorial

This weekend is Memorial weekend. The Huz doesn't have Monday off, but I do! I'm looking forward to three days off of work and at home.

I have three goals for the weekend:

1. Clean the Bathroom
After two surprise visits by each of our mothers for the sole purpose of using the facilities, I've decided it's time to get the sucker shiny and not embarrassing.

2. Sew a burlap pillow
This has been on my list for about 4 months. I have all this burlap from the wedding reception that I'm excited to play around with. But then I had sewing machine issues. Now, those have seem to be resolved and I'm ready to try again!

(we alternated dark and light burlap on each table)

And while we're looking at some of the reception decor ... I'll snag a few photos my aunt took to share with you.

3. Post NEW listings on Etsy.
This has also been a goal I've had for several weeks and I've just not made the time to do it. So! Monday it will be!

Hopefully we'll get some yardsalin' in this weekend, too.

Friday Visual Feast

I don't even know where this week has gone! It's been a bit busy at work, working on finishing up a lot of BIG projects.

I haven't had time to snap photos of a favorite find from my home for today, but I did quickly find these awesome art pieces from Sarah Moldovan, who describers herself like this:

"...mother. wife. photographer. graphic artist. full time student. audio book junkie. optimist. always busy. a morning person. easy going. a bit shy to a stranger, kindhearted and funny to my family and friends."

Enjoy her scenes! I want all of these! And purchase her things here.

Favorite Finds Friday: Going Global

So, I love the stuff I find. That's why I buy it (or get it for free, whatevs). I've decided to share with you some of my favorite things that I've found over the years that are still around my apartment.

Have you seen that globes are all the rage this year? I've seen them everywhere! I've seen them in magazines, online, on etsy. They run anywhere from $20 - $100 bucks or more!

My aunt Steph, my grandma, my mom and I all went up to Spokane for the annual show Farm Chicks show last June. We took the scenic route on the way up and stopped at a couple of shops Steph had heard about or been to. One of them was The Hangar Antique Mall in Clarkston, Washington. It is huge and fun and great! We stopped there and I picked up a few of my favorite finds! One of them is this guy.
Can you guess how much he set me back?

Try $5 bucks!

Yep, a fist full of dollar bills! I'm pretty proud of this find!

So, the weekend is coming ... do you have any fun plans??
The Huz is off to 11 year-old overnight scout camp (he's a co-scout leader). So, I have a bit of me time! For this time I've got a whole agenda - we'll see how many of them get done:

  • Sand and paint a chair I picked up a while go at a yard sale.
  • Try making a book shelf - as in a shelf out of a book.
  • Mop the kitchen.
  • Dust the living room.
  • Exercise.
  • Watch HGTV and a chick flick.
  • Go yard saling!
  • Sew a burlap pillow case.
  • Post NEW, fabulously salvaged items to the shop.
I'll let you know how these go .... let me know about YOUR projects!

Where've I seen that?

So, I typed in "vintage blog" on google today, for some fresh break-time entertainment and came across this blog - which I've already taken a liking to. But then I saw THIS (see below) ....

I thought, hmmm, something about this is familiar! It should be familiar to you, too!

Ta-da! Those frames are like full siblings (not even halvsies) of my frame!

See, robin's egg blue is a brill (short for brilliant) color, especially for the spring season.

Today is my Friday, I have my sister-in-law's wedding in Portland tomorrow followed by many fun adventures with The Huz.

What's coming in your first FULL weekend of spring? I really do want to know...

Vision

Recognize this guy?

Maybe seeing the pair will help?!

Some things just take a little vision .... They're now available at my shop.

These are also there, don't you love them? I LOVE the idea of old things that were essential. Flower, sugar ...

My 10 year-old sister, Ri-Lola, has been here with us the past couple of days. Today, she and I hit the mean streets of our little town, Diet Pepsis in hand, and found a treasure! I LOVE how the apples look here.

Speaking of vision and love and lovely treasures - here's two of my favorite photos from our November wedding... with my lovely bridesmaids.

How was YOUR Monday, my dears?
